VOCATIONAL TECHNICAL

 

STAGE TECHNOLOGY I (1 CREDIT)

An in-depth study and experience involving all aspects of "behind the scenes" in theatrical production.  This course will provide the student with hands-on knowledge of stage lighting and sound, set construction, costume design, etc., using the professional equipment and facilities here at Tuacahn.  This course satisfies the vocational credit required by the Utah State Office of Education.

 

STAGE TECHNOLOGY II (1 CREDIT)

Prerequisite!!! : Stage Technology I

Advanced Study of technical theatre and college preparation to enter technical theatre programs. An in-depth study and experience involving all aspects of "behind the scenes" in production.  This class will emphasize the design and leadership aspects of technical theatre. 20 hours of hands-on technical theatre work are required outside of the classroom setting on a school production.

 

COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY: BASIC COMPUTER SKILLS (.5 CREDIT)

This course teaches basic computer skills important for success in today's increasingly computer literate world. The course is divided into six parts: Basic Computing, Know Your PC, The Internet, Microsoft Word 2002, Excel, and Power Point 2002. The instructor uses industry leading LearnKey training software. This course is mandatory for all Utah students.

 

MULTIMEDIA I: DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT (1 CREDIT)

This class teaches the process of planning, instructional design, and development. Students will create interactive computer applications using text, graphics, animation, and digital imaging. These skills are designed to prepare the student for entry-level positions and other occupational/educational goals. This class is offered only to students in grades 10-12.
