THS Uniform Policy for 2007 - 2008 School Year

This uniform policy has been created to ensure all students have the opportunity to learn and grow in an environment conducive to learning. It is our hope that holding students accountable for these expectations will continue our success in growing your children into responsible, well- rounded individuals. *

Shoes

Tuacahn High School requires that shoes be worn both in and outside the school at all times. Slippers of any kind are not allowed.

Shirts

Logo shirts in seven different colors may be purchased from our school administration office located at the high school.

Bottoms

Jumpers, shorts, and slacks or skirts are to be in solid navy or beige khaki material. Embellishments such as; contrast stitching, sparkles, glitter, and lace or embroidery, Split seams, and cut-off or frayed hems are NOT ALLOWED. NO denim of any color. Pants can be purchased at a variety of stores or at the school. Pants are to be a classic, straight-leg style. No cargo, or carpenter pants will be allowed nor will pants that sag or have ornamentation. Pants with patch pockets on the front are also unacceptable. In addition, no chains will be allowed on the uniform. Jumpers must be purchased at the school. No sagging pants or low hip rider pants that expose under wear are allowed.

Other Requirements

Body piercing is limited to ears only. No other piercing will be allowed if the piercing is visible or a distraction. Jewelry must also be modest, safe, and of a non-distraction style. No more than two items of jewelry may worn on any body part (ie: ears, neck, fingers etc.). Violations of this policy will be documented and if a student is non-compliant, he/she will be sent home to change immediately. Multiple offenses of this policy by any student may result in disciplinary action.

Outerwear

When outerwear is worn, outerwear must have the school logo. Outerwear can be purchased at the school.

To ensure that all students meet our high expectations, the following rules will be observed:

  • Shirts will be worn modestly in at all times. No tied up waist wraps or arm length modifications are allowed. Please help with this procedure by making sure your child is properly attired upon entering the school.
  • All undershirts must be plain color (no writing or graphics permissible).
  • Shorts and skirts must be worn at knee length or longer.
  • Undergarments cannot be exposed while standing, sitting or bending over.
  • Students are required to dress out for P.E. Activity uniforms are sold at the school.
  • On special dress-up days, if a student is not dressing in appropriate “theme” clothing they must wear their regular uniform. Free dress standards must be modest and not distracting to the instructional setting. This includes jewelry. No chains will be allowed.
  • Hair must be of a color that occurs naturally in human nature. Hair should be styled in a way that is not deemed a distraction to others.
  • In all dress, professionalism and appropriateness will be expected.

*Note: The Principal may make exceptions to the above policy for personal, religious or medical reasons.
