| SCIENCE
CHEMISTRY: (1 CREDIT)
This is an intermediate level class. We will work on the principles of chemistry, as written in the Utah State Core Curriculum. We will cover the nature of atoms, molecule, measurement techniques, chemical equations, acids, bases, and stoichiometry. The students will again an appreciation of chemistry and establish a foundation that will aid them throughout their lives making them better consumers and citizens.
PHYSICS: (1 CREDIT)
This is an intermediate physic course. It is designed to give students a working knowledge of the laws of nature. We will study motion, gravity, thermodynamics, energy, sound, light, magnetism, and atomic structure. Students will be given the opportunity to earn a vocational certificate. We will spend a great deal of time on lights, sound, and electricity, in hopes of producing great theater technicians.
BIOLOGY: (1 CREDIT)
This course is designed to interest students in the wonders of life. We will explore general chemistry, cellular processes, the organization of life, and genetics. The Utah State Core Curriculum will be followed. Emphasis will be placed on scientific processes, encouraging students to question, and fully experience the biology all around them.
AP BIOLOGY: (1 CREDIT)
This is an advanced placement class. It is intended to study human biology while preparing students for the advance placement test. It is an elementary college level course. Students learning will be extended through extensive lab work. Students will learn the bones and muscles of the body, as well as the function of tissues and organs. This class will require a lot of out of class time to succeed. The class is built around the Advanced Placement Test and the Utah State Core Curriculum. |
