VISUAL ART PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Course work in art classes at Tuacahn is designed to enlarge the personal scope
of drawing, painting, collage, photography and mixed media. To provide a well-rounded introduction
of art History we will study periods of art and master artists. Students will develop skills by
experimenting with various mediums such as acrylic, watercolor, oils, pencils, pens, glue, cutting,
charcoal and photography.
To be prepared for college art courses we will develop a student portfolio and follow state
guidelines for all art classes.
With the most spectacular scenery available, we will spend many hours outside sketching and painting.

VISUAL ART I - (1 Credit)
In an effort to capitalize on the school setting with its spectacular scenic splendor,
this course will introduce the student to the basic concepts of drawing, color and spatial relationships, art appreciation and its
relevance to the performing arts. .
